Caribbean cruise planning tips

Eastern, Western, and Southern Caribbean itineraries feel very different. The Eastern is beaches and shopping. The Western leans toward Mexico and Central America. The Southern reaches farther out, with quieter islands and longer sea days.

Hurricane season runs roughly June through November, with the peak in September. Sailings still happen, and cruise lines are good at rerouting, but plan accordingly if flexibility matters.

Port days can be intense. Balance an active excursion with a slower one. A morning snorkel followed by a quiet beach afternoon is often the sweet spot.
